HISTÓRICO

Banda do ABC paulista formada em 2010 que tem em sua formação atual Atila Paloppi (baixo), Thiago Ferreira (vocais), Fellipe Magri e Saulo Peghin (guitarras) e Gustavo Abreu (bateria). Possui o EP "Asgard Palace" (2010) e o recém "King of Azuris".

ANÁLISE

Quando pensamos em bandas com temática viking, uma das primeiras que vem à mente é a sueca Amon Amarth. "King of Azuris" veio para provar que temos uma nova banda para essa associação: ARTHANUS.

O disco transita entre o que há de melhor tanto em bandas vikings como até mesmo em bandas de Death Metal tradicional, já que o peso e a técnica apurada de seus integrantes a destaca da mesmice atual.

PONTO ALTO

Merecem destaques neste álbum a produção realizada pela banda e também por Danilo Pozzani (Acustica Studios), onde é possível percebermos toda a qualidade técnica dos membros, assim como as sutilezas que cada música possui. Além disso, poucas vezes recebi em mãos um cd com a parte gráfica tão caprichada, fazendo com que o ouvinte possa acompanhar de perto a proposta da banda. Mais um ponto dividido entre a ARTHANUS e o pessoal da HAMMER OF DAMNATION. Grande lançamento!

E as músicas?

A cada nova audição sempre acabava elegendo uma faixa como preferida, mostrando assim a alta qualidade do álbum. Mas o lindo início e toda a inspiração que cercam " Balder, the God of Light", a pegada mais "tradicional" presente em "Arthanus, King of Azuris" (Que faixa!!!) e "Serpent of the World", uma das maiores e mais agressivas do disco, se destacaram por pouco em meio a músicas que estão entre as melhores do Viking Metal.

VEREDITO FINAL

"King of Azuris" é um dos melhores álbuns de um estilo que possui grandes bandas no Brasil. Obrigatório não só para amantes do Viking Metal como para todo amante do Metal Extremo. Por poucos dinheiros você pode levar pra casa não apenas um excelente álbum, mas uma obra-prima.

HISTORY:

Formed in 2010 in the city of São Caetano do Sul, Arthanus’  line up is as follows: Atila Paloppi (bass), Thiago Ferreira (vocals),  Fellipe Magri and Saulo Peghin (guitars) and Gustavo Abreu (drums). 

The discography of the band so far comprises the EP "Asgard Palace" (2010) and the newly released "King of Azuris" 

ANALYSIS:

When we think of Viking-themed death metal bands, the Swedish group Amon Amarth first comes to mind. With the release of King of Azuris, ARTHANUS have demonstrated that they have now stepped up to the plate, and have produced an awesome album with a signature heavy sound, and some fantastic musicianship contributed by all the members of the band

HIGH POINTS:

King of Azuris was produced by the band in conjunction with Danilo Pozzani of Acoustica Studios, who has done a great job in creating one of the best Viking rock albums of the year. Not only that but the album has a fantastic cover which is really befitting for a disc of this quality. The staff at HAMMER OF DAMNATION consider this album to be an epic release! All the songs are so good that it was difficult for me to choose my favourite song.  "Balder, the God of Light," has a beautiful introduction and the more traditional songs "Arthanus, King of Azuris" and "Serpent of the World," are wicked and the most aggressive of the album, and stood out as some of the best songs I’ve heard in Viking Metal. 

FINAL VEREDICT:

King of Azuris is an essential requirement not only for Viking Metal fans, but for all Extreme Metal lovers.  For a small outlay, you can take home not only an excellent album, from a local Brazilian band, but a true masterpiece with an excellent cover to boot
